Balance is difficult to achieve for anyone, but especially so for Moms! Nevertheless, we are confident that you regularly:
Feed your child nourishing foods
Talk and play with your child
Make sure they have toys and games that further their development and
Ensure your child feels loved and cherished, body mind and spirit.
But when is the last time you:
Took a bubble bath with no guilt or time restraints?
Bought a new outfit because it made you feel pretty?
Relaxed in your own home without thinking of all the chores yet to do?
Got a full, refreshing night’s sleep?
And even harder to do, try to remember the last time you:
Enjoyed your hobbies and passions.
Found and listened to your inner voice.
Consciously balanced your priorities in life.
Went to sleep feeling complete.
We’re willing to bet it’s been a very long time since you have routinely done good things for yourself. Part of the problem is that many women do not know how to balance the three parts of themselves: Mom, Mother, and Woman.
Three Parts of You
“Mom” is the part of you who nurtures other people. “Mom” cares for and loves our children, family, friends, and sometimes strangers.
“Mother” ensures that YOU feel taken care of and loved. “Mother” says ‘no’ to requests when you’re feeling overwhelmed, chooses healthy foods to eat, and makes sure you have time to play before bedtime.
And the “Woman” part of you is the one who ignites the fire within your body, mind and spirit, encouraging you to follow your true life path and do great things.
Signs of a “Mom” Imbalance
When the three parts of you (Mom, Mother, and Woman) are not balanced, you tend to feel:
Tired all the time
Misunderstood by family and friends
Taken advantage of by acquaintances, friends and family
Like a robot
Dissatisfied with your body, finances, life direction…
Like an unpaid servant for your family
Like you are “missing” a piece of who you are
How to Balance Mom, Mother and Woman
If you want to feel really good about your Self and your life, you must learn to balance “Mom” with the other aspects of you. “Mom” doesn’t completely go away – you still need her, after all. Instead, you want to enhance your motherly and womanly aspects.
Take care of yourself as if you were your own Mother. Eat right, exercise and play, go to bed at a decent hour, and tell your Self how great you are!
Allow your Womanly, feminine, sensuous nature to overtake you sometimes. Appreciate the sights and sounds that greet you in the morning. Feel the warm sun on your back, and thank Spirit for everything in your life. Allow your tears to flow, and feel your strength well up inside of you.
