I Want This!

Life Coaching Costs

Life Coaching Costs

life coachingWhat can you do if you want a coach badly but can’t afford one?

The commercial says, “You’re Worth It.” However, that advertising phrase is misleading. It implies that you are worth going into debt over something you want very badly. Before you extend yourself to an uncomfortable financial situation, rework the phrase in your mind.

“You’re Worth It” is not an excuse to overspend. You are worth the discomfort of sacrificing your immediate desires when doing so will create a better future for you. You are worth the effort it takes to create a financially peaceful, debt-free life. You are worth the investment in time it will take to find workable solutions to your financial problem!

So, if you feel limited by finances, your first step is to research methods you can use to improve your financial situation. Your second step is to formulate your own financial plan. Your third step is to carry out the plan you create. As you work your plan, new opportunities and ideas will come to you simply because you are working your plan!

In a nutshell, you are worth it. You are worthy of a peaceful, happy life; but, you have to create it, not buy it. Do not overextend your finances to hire any coach.

How Expensive is Life Coaching?

Coaches try to price their services similarly to other coaches. Coaches offer many levels of service and varying types of coach involvement for your money. You really must poke around on the web to find a coach that meets your needs. Bluelady Muse offers life coaching, too.

Your money gives you power to hire and fire. You can’t do that with your friends, you know. Frankly, money substitutes for emotional obligation.

Do you pay your plumber for his insight into your personal life? No, you pay him to fix your plumbing. If he doesn’t fix your plumbing, you choose another plumber. The power of your money ensures that your plumber will do everything in his power to fix your dilemma.

It may sound crude, but the same principle applies to life coaching. You pay a coach to help you find ways to fix your dilemmas. If your coach fails, you take your money elsewhere. Period. That’s not to say that your coach’s only interest is your money. If she were, there are much simpler ways to go about earning it. In addition, your coach’s relationship with you is not based on your ability to pay.

If paying for coaching is a problem, tell your coach. Perhaps you can barter, work out a payment plan, or find some other creative solution to help you get the help you want.

Money is the equalizer in a coaching relationship – it ensures that you get what you need from your coach without having to worry about her personal needs or feelings in return.

Why Can’t My Friend Be My Coach?

Why Can’t My Friend Be My Coach?

life coachingChances are if she is your best friend, she wants the best for you, just like your coach would. However, with friendship comes along the unspoken obligation to agree with you, or at least sugar coat her responses and dramatically raise her eyebrows when you report what your dear husband did wrong this morning.

Best friends rarely play ‘Devil’s Advocate’ to get you feeling, thinking, or looking at your life from a different viewpoint, and her advice is usually what she would do, not necessarily what you would (or could) do.

Friendship naturally ebbs and flows…some days are “all about her” when you would be better served with a day “all about you.” Friendships are emotional obligations that take a lot of time to nurture and grow. Worth it? You bet. Are friends always the best ones to turn to when you need a plan? No; especially if part of your problem is the people with whom you surround yourself. Read the rest of this entry

Life Coaching

Life Coaching

life coachingYou’re a smart, curious woman and probably a mother, too.  You know how to fix the world when it gets turned upside down. You’ve managed emergency room visits, social dramas, bruised egos, financial trouble and teacher conferences and/or home school stress.

All of your life experiences have led you to where you stand today.  You may wish you’d handled some things differently, but you figure you’ll know better next time around.

Women consistently manage this world’s ups and downs (often at great cost to themselves).  That’s why women are mothers.  We’re the ones everyone else turns to when their worlds go haywire.  Nurturing so many other souls is a large burden to carry!

We women are so good at fixing other people’s worlds that we don’t take time to fix our own world.  Where do you go when you’re hanging on by your fingernails?

Oh sure, you can cry on our husbands’ shoulders, complain to your friends or call your mom. It feels liberating to finally take an opportunity and unload stress. But if you’re like most women, that feeling of liberation is short-lived.

You feel so much better after unloading stress that you think you’re ready to carry on. Unfortunately, “carrying on” means diving back into the situations that caused the stress in the first place. Nothing changes.

You only get to feel like Super Woman for a little while. Then you go back to doing the same things in the same ways. In a few months, weeks, or even hours, you’re a basket case all over again.

If you’re ready to break the Super Woman to Basket Case cycle, then a personal life coach is for you. If you can answer “Yes” to most of these questions, then life coaching could be a positive force in your life.

  • Are you willing to set or learn how to set goals for yourself?
  • Are you are willing to create new perspectives and work to change your attitude when appropriate?
  • Are you are willing to follow up your thoughts with positive actions?
  • Are you are willing to enhance your intuitive and creative abilities?
  • Are you are willing to listen to your own heart for solutions?
  • Are you are willing to begin leaving where you are now in life to create a better, more positive future for yourself?
  • Are you are willing to believe that helping yourself benefits your children, your spouse, and your entire circle of influence?
  • Are you are willing to believe that your life will be full of health, happiness, peace and success by committing yourself to following your heart and soul in all matters?

Are You Willing?

You probably noticed the phrase “willing to” in each of the questions. Your ability to change or grow is based on your willingness to do so. For example, you don’t have to fully believe that ”helping yourself benefits your children” right now. But you must be willing to believe that it could be true. Your coach helps you to find the ability to help yourself.

The coaching process will reveal how helping yourself helps your children, and in time you will believe it to be true too.
Where there’s a will there’s a way. Where there’s no will, there is no way to receive (or to give) help. If you want to change everyone and every thing around you (but not yourself, then you will only get frustrated and alienate everyone who cares for you. Changing your Self is the only way to grow.

Kellie Jo Holly, founder of Verbal Abuse Journals, suffered the oppression of domestic abuse and violence when she and her sister Erin Chavez created the Bluelady Muse website in 2004. Kellie Jo eventually freed herself from her abusive marriage and credits her online friends and Bluelady Muse (the Spirit of this website) for her decision to leave.
